The MegaPulse 1089 Series is designed to test Telecommunication Equipment to the Surge Requirements of GR-1089-CORE, Issues 1, 2 and 3. An optional BNC oscilloscope output is available on all models, and the Tektronix P6015 high accuracy oscilloscope probe can be used for proper waveform measurement and waveform capture. Compliance with the tolerance requirements in GR-1089 Issue 4 Appendix A is guaranteed.

  • Generates the waveforms required by GR-1089, Issue 1, 2, 3 or 4 in accordance with the referenced Table or Paragraph.
  • Designed with operator safety in mind: Set up the EUT to the right and behind the tester, and a right-handed operator will find himself standing to the left of the tester, allowing maximum separation.
  • Theoretical graphs and actual graphs showing the output of your tester are included with each MegaPulse Capacitor Tester, allowing easy sanity checks and proof to visiting agency engineers of test setups.
  • 1000:1 BNC Oscilloscope output allows quick connections and easy evaluation of output waveforms. Reverse polarity waveforms available by pushing a button on the front panel. No need to change the test setup. Positive polarity indication minimizes errors.
  • Front panel voltage meter shows residual voltage in charging circuit for safer operation.
  • Outputs guaranteed to be in accordance with GR-1089 Issue 4 Appendix A.
