The HTT-1R was designed to provide a fast, safe and reliable way to verify proper operation of Dielectric Withstand (hipot) and Ground Bond Testers between calibration cycles, using actual component values which mimic the product being tested. It provides a stringent periodic check of your production line hipot and ground bond testers as required by TUV and others. The HTT-1R functions like the HTT-1 tester, but goes a step further by providing component values as the test loads, instead of opens and shorts provided by the HTT-1.
By choosing one of Compliance West's standard configurations conforming to your testing parameters (or custom parameters based on your requirements), the hipot and ground bond tester in use are checked by realistic component values which mimic the characteristics of your production items.
The HTT-1R verifies the result of the three failure modes encountered in production hipot and ground circuit testing (open ground, high leakage current, and dielectric breakdown) separately or in any combination to verify proper test equipment operation. A passing test can also be simulated.
The HTT-1R is designed to test up to 30A ground bond testers using these values to simulate actual operation. Connections to the Ground Bond Tester will add approximately 0.03Ω to these values.
GROUND BOND PASS: 0.025Ω GROUND BOND FAIL: 0.1Ω
The HTT-1R also tests the leakage current trip function of the hipot tester up to 3000V using one of four standard values. All voltages are RMS Values, which are the values shown on the AC or DC range of the hipot tester.
LomA: LEAKAGE CURRENT PASS: 0.5mA at 2100V / 0.35mA at 1500V LomA; LEAKAGE CURRENT FAIL: 1mA at 2100V / 0.71 mA at 1500V
MedmA: LEAKAGE CURRENT PASS: 2.5mA at 2100V / 1.8mA at 1500V MedmA: LEAKAGE CURRENT FAIL: 5mA at 2100V / 3.5mA at 1500V
HimA: LEAKAGE CURRENT PASS: 5mA at 2100V / 3.6mA at 1500V HimA: LEAKAGE CURRENT FAIL: 10.5mA at 2100V / 7.5mA at 1500V
ExmA: LEAKAGE CURRENT PASS: 7.1mA at 2100V / 5mA at 1500V ExmA: LEAKAGE CURRENT FAIL: 17.5mA at 2100V, 12.5mA at 1500V
The HTT-1R also tests the Arc Detection circuit of the hipot tester. The arc circuit is rated at 3000V maximum. ARC CIRCUIT PASS: Open circuit ARC CIRCUIT FAIL: arc-over at 750V ± 400Vac / 1050V ± 560Vdc
The HTT-1R is provided with test leads which allow connection to any brand hipot tester which uses a standard NEMA 15A receptacle and banana plug return leads to connect to the EUT. The manual contains anticipated results and suggests testing procedures.
Custom configurations for various leakage current pass/fail points are available. Consult for price and delivery.
