pH Meters are used to measure the pH (Acidity or Alkalinity) in liquids and semi-solid surfaces using probes or electrode sensors.

Most pH meters will measure a range of liquids from 0 to 14 pH. Pure water has a pH around 7 at 25º C and will vary with temperature. When an acid is dissolved in water the pH will be less than 7 (if at 25° C) and when a base, or alkali is dissolved in water the pH will be greater than 7 (if at 25° C)
