AC hipot testers apply an alternating current (AC) electrical charge to the device under test (DUT). Generally there are 50 or 60 complete cycles of the alternating voltage each second. For a finished instrument or appliance coming off of the assembly line, an AC hipot tester can provide one of the final QA/QC checks.
