Air Velocity Calibration

Located in San Diego, California, Calright Instruments provides top-quality and reliable electronic test, measurement, and test equipment. Our professional technical and service team members ensure you have everything needed for your testing applications.

About Air Velocity Calibration

Anemometers and air flow meters are typically calibrated with the aid of laboratory-grade wind tunnels. These tools are designed to achieve a highly uniform flow rate with variable control. This way, users can perform verification tests across the different anemometers or air flow meters. To determine a uniform flowrate, a repeatable, precision differential pressure sensor is used to monitor the wind tunnel. Additionally, it has been calibrated with the wind tunnel. The differential pressure measurements will then be used to calculate the actual flowrate of the wind tunnel. These figures are also used to compare with the anemometer or air flow meter that is being tested. Continuous monitoring of ambient conditions such as temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure are necessary to produce accurate results and reduce uncertainties.

Our Air Velocity Calibration Services

At Calright Instruments, we utilize a state of the art, laboratory grade, Open Loop Wind Tunnel Calibration System for our Anemometer/ Air Flow Meter Calibration Services. This solution is ideal for calibrating hot wire anemometers, rotary vane anemometers, and wind speed indicators. The precision of this wind tunnel system allows us to conduct high-quality calibrations and increase test uncertainty ratios.

Our Air Velocity Calibration Products

  • Reed R1900 Air Velocity Meter, Compact Series

The Reed R1900 Air Velocity Meter features a dual LCD screen to display air velocity and temperature simultaneously. This compact air velocity meter (anemometer) measures in knots, mph, kph, m/s, and fpm. The R1900 keeps track of average and maximum readings and has a low friction rotating vane and data hold function for improved accuracy. It also comes with a low battery indicator and an auto shut off function. Each pack comes with three “AAA” batteries. This product can be shipped within 5 to 7 days.

  • Extech 407119 Heavy-Duty Hot Wire CFM Thermo-Anemometer, 40 to 3346 Ft/Min

This anemometer accurately measures air flow, air velocity, and temperature. It features a telescoping probe that can extend up to three feet. This Extech device performs well when used in ducts and ventilating systems. Therefore, its ideal applications include HVAC installation, fume hood testing, ventilation servicing, environmental wind testing, plant maintenance, and more.
