The Agilent 1170A’s a low-mass passive probe. As components and ICs continue shrinking in size, probing is becoming increasingly difficult. Made for simple connection to fine-pitch ICs, dense circuit boards and surface mount components, the Agilent 1170A low-mass passive probe is making the job of connecting and probing less frustrating. With a very small, light probe tip (<1 gram), these passive probes give the same reliability and high performance you've come to expect from Agilent's high-performance passive probes. Add a flexible, ultra-thin cable, and the Agilent 1170A probe isn’t only easy to connect, but it stays put on the test point.

You would think a probe this small would be hard to hold, but the Agilent 1170A plugs into a browser accessory that makes it as easy to hold as a conventional probe. This patented browser concept makes use of a crown point pogo pin which digs into solder and then absorbs tiny hand movement, so does not slip.

When utilized in conjunction with the Agilent Wedge, the Agilent 1170A provides a hands-free solution that’s reliable for probing 0.65 mm and 0.5 mm IC probes and packages tip connects directly to board headers as well.
