The Multimeter Models 5231 and 5233 are economical TRMS digital multimeters (that are also rugged) with a nonelectrical contact testing (NCV) function for the detection of live electrical circuits (the display turns red). These multimeters are made for safety: IEC61010 600V CAT IV. The Models 5233 and 5231 provide a Diode, Continuity, Ohm, and Volt function.
The Model 5233 also has an Ammeter function, Duty Cycle, Frequency, and Capacitance. They both consist of an AC voltmeter function with the impedance of low input that can find ghost voltages by adding a burden to the circuit.
The Model 5231 conducts DC/AC direct reading current measurements up to 600A with a current clamp accessory plugged in, while the Model 5233 can make measurements up directly to 10A and can make measurements of temperature in °F or °C with the use of K-type thermocouples.
The rotary function switch gives 2 OFF positions (OFF NCV and OFF). The display will turn red if it’s placed near a live cable while in the OFF NCV position, which provides an easy and safe way to detect hot wires. These meters have a high sensitivity with a 0.01mV resolution and can endure overloads up to 8000V.
These multimeters are perfect for air-conditioning specialists, electricians and heating, or electrical installers.
