The Model 2620 makes measurements of leakage current shunted to the ground as a result of insulation faults. It allows the operator to find failures when they happen or anticipate them prior to them occurring, without spending hours troubleshooting or getting the equipment to shut down.
It’s specifically designed for finding faults that are low-current on loads that are high-current. The detector’s a nickel alloy AC current transformer that is sensitive and can measure leakage or differential current as low as 500µA, and could be utilized to make measurements of current up to 400A continuous duty.
The Model 2620 gives 2 output ranges: 1mV/Aac or 1mV/mAac. The output leads are terminated with standard 4mm banana plugs that can interface with any standard multimeter. With a range of 500µA to 200A, the Model 2620 and its 4" jaw opening gives a versatile way to examine ground loop currents, value of leakage on grounding conductors, and unbalanced current measurements.
