Dissolved Oxygen or “DO” is the amount of dissolved oxygen in water usually mixed through waves, waterfalls, or photosynthesis from aquatic plants. Dissolved oxygen meters measure the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water using electrode sensors. The electrode sensors measure the pressure of oxygen, which is then converted to oxygen mass and weight concentration or as percent of saturation.
Dissolved oxygen meters can be used for waste water treatment, bio reactions, or to monitor the oxygen for the living conditions for fish and microorganisms in water.
